Rose and Alex: Engagement Proposal at Boulevard Park in Bellingham, Wash., during sunset

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to document love first hand. Alex asked me to do their engagement photos. He planned a surprise proposal at Boulevard Park in Bellingham, Wash., during sunset.

A Night with the Perseids

Just a quick post. As most of the world knows, the peak for the annual Perseid Meteor Shower was this morning August 12, 2016. Many said it was a fantastic show. It was nice, but I wouldn’t say it was one of the best I saw.

50th Annual Chuckanut Foot Race

I’ve been a bit busy with assignments and personal projects. I’ve a lot of blogs or maybe just a few big ones to write so I can play catch-up. First, I’ll post a few quickies from weekend shoots.

On Saturday July 9, 2016, I photographed the 50th annual Chuckanut Foot Race for The Bellingham Herald. It’s a 7 mile run that starts at Fairhaven Marine Park and ends at Larrabee State Park. The faster runners do it in about 35 minutes, while most average about an hour.

A Fun 5K for the Whole Family

A few weeks ago I had the fun of shooting a Girls on the Run 5K sponsored by the Whatcom Family YMCA in Bellingham, Wash. It was a simple assignment for Whatcom Family Health Magazine, which is part of The Bellingham Herald.

GOTR director Jen Gallant said over 700 people registered for the fun run which included 400 participants in the GOTR and Trailblazer program as well as 300 adults from various YMCAs around the Puget Sound. She added GOTR is a YMCA after school program designed to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical development. (© Paul Conrad/The Bellingham Herald)

#AvsB – #Alpenglow or #Sunset?

Here are two photos of the same subject but with different light and I’d like to ask which one is your favorite, and why. Please vote in the poll then post your reasoning in the comment section.

A few weeks ago I went out to shoot the last sunset of the year. I headed to one of my favorite places to shoot. The sky was clear, the air crisp and cold, the views were fantastic. Plus, with the cold air, the visibility was astonishing.

From Boulevard Park in Bellingham, Wash., you could see Mt. Robie Reid in British Columbia. The added bonus was the beautiful light cast upon it by the setting Sun
