Ever wonder how some photographers can balance the light of a rising Moon with the Sun lighting the mountains? How they get that “perfectly” exposed Moon with a beautiful color on the mountain peaks? It’s really not that hard.

My “Best” Photos of 2016
From sweeping landscapes to portraits to news, these are my “best” photos from 2016. A night shooting the Perseids at Artist Point, documenting the Presidential Election, a surprise engagement, a rare snowstorm, and vigil for the Pulse Nightclub shooting victims topped my favorites.
After a rough edit, these are the 18 I’ve picked as my favorites. To see my rough edit, visit my gallery Year in Photos: My Favorites.

Best Photos of the Month October 2016
Didn’t really have much as I was limited to what I could do due to surgery. The whole month of October I was limited to 10 pounds. Still I shot a few football games, a breaking news story, and some of my own projects. Enjoy my Photo of the Month of October.

Mount Baker over Bellingham: Sunset Colors the Bay
A few photos of Bellingham and Mount Baker as the setting Sun cast a pink hue over Bellingham Bay a few weeks ago. I didn’t expect the clouds to break and the sky to light up.
