There’s nothing more satisfying that capturing a photo you’ve wanted to get for a long time. For me, it was freezing a ball tack sharp between the pitcher and the batter with both out of focus. On Thursday I shot the Blaine vs Lynden Christian varsity boys baseball game for The Bellingham Herald. There was not a lot of action on the field, so I concentrated on the pitchers.
The past few weeks have offered some blazing and glorious sunsets here in Bellingham, Wash. One of the things I like to shoot during sunsets are something different than what everyone else shoots: the sunset. It’s nice to get something better. During one particular evening, the sight of the setting Sun was too much to bear. I just had to shoot it.
From sweeping landscapes to portraits to news, these are my “best” photos from 2016. A night shooting the Perseids at Artist Point, documenting the Presidential Election, a surprise engagement, a rare snowstorm, and vigil for the Pulse Nightclub shooting victims topped my favorites.
After a rough edit, these are the 18 I’ve picked as my favorites. To see my rough edit, visit my gallery Year in Photos: My Favorites.
Didn’t really have much as I was limited to what I could do due to surgery. The whole month of October I was limited to 10 pounds. Still I shot a few football games, a breaking news story, and some of my own projects. Enjoy my Photo of the Month of October.
Last Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, I had the pleasure of photographing the 2016 Cheerfest sponsored by the Northwest SilverStars. The demonstration is the capstone from a week of Mini Cheer Camp hosted by Hailey Rio.
