For Damian’s senior photos, we went out one beautiful day for a portrait session at Boulevard Park in Bellingham, Wash. He was a charm to work with and easy-going.

A few weeks ago I was commissioned to photograph a friend’s son for his senior portraits. He missed the deadline to have them in the yearbook, but his mother wanted to get some good photos of him.

We met about 45 minutes before sunset. It was a bit overcast so the light was nice and even. With the skies clear out west, the light wasn’t really flat. It still had some dimension.

Which was nice as it the light created some shadow but with little contrast. I brought my strobes, umbrellas and reflector along in case. Glad I didn’t need them.

As we continued to photograph, the Sun came out in the west. With the sweet Golden Hour approaching, the light turned a beautiful shade of gold.

We worked with his dress attire then moved to casual clothes. One of my typical sessions. I always give my clients a few clothing changes, several hours of photography, and even several locations. I want to capture the best photos of them.
