This is a super late post as I’ve been recuperating from a hernia surgery. Nothing worse than getting one and your doctor telling you not to carry more than 10 pounds. That’s pretty much one of my bodies and my 70-200. Sucks. These are my favorite photos from August and September 2016.

Through the Bubbles

During the month, I had about a dozen assignments covering everything from The Color Run to the 70th Annual Bellingham High School reunion. In addition, I went out to shoot the Perseid Meteor shower, landscapes through out Whatcom County, and a few portraits.

Not only did I have to shoot stills, I also delved into video. Still working on my shooting and editing, but I feel confident if I needed to shoot video only for an assignment, I would be able to.

During the Perseid meteor shower, I not only shot the meteors, but also the galaxy as it appeared to come out of the mouth of Mount Baker.

Landscapes are fun. Not only do people like a nice landscape, but as a photographer, they give you time to stop and think. As you usually shoot at a lower ISO, you also have to set up your camera on a tripod. This gives you the opportunity to really think of the shot in terms of composition, depth of field, shutter speed, any filters you may want to use, and focal length.
